FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Clear answers before we build.

Planning a custom gate or fence should feel straightforward. These answers explain how Art Construction Corp. approaches design, structure, automation, service, and written warranty terms.

What areas do you serve?

Art Construction Corp. serves Plano and communities throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex, including Frisco, Allen, McKinney, Richardson, Parker, Dallas, and Fort Worth.

Do you provide free estimates?

Yes. Tell us your project city, approximate dimensions, preferred materials, and whether you need automation so we can discuss the right next step.

Do you build custom gates?

Yes. We fabricate one-of-one sliding and swing gates around your driveway, architecture, security needs, and preferred design.

Can you build from a photograph or sketch?

Yes. A photograph, sketch, architectural reference, or original idea can be the starting point for a custom design.

Do you install automatic sliding gates?

Yes. We build and install automatic sliding systems with the frame, posts, track, operator, stops, safety hardware, and access controls planned together.

Do you install automatic swing gates?

Yes. We offer single and double swing systems after evaluating the driveway width, grade, clear opening area, posts, and operating direction.

Which is better: a sliding gate or swing gate?

A sliding gate is often best where swing clearance is limited or the opening is wide. A swing gate can create a classic entrance when the driveway has a safe, clear opening arc.

Do you build cedar fences and gates?

Yes. Options include premium cedar privacy fencing, board-on-board construction, reinforced metal posts, staining, and matching pedestrian or driveway gates.

Do you build iron and ornamental fencing?

Yes. We fabricate iron fencing, driveway gates, pedestrian gates, decorative panels, crests, monograms, scrollwork, and architectural details.

Do you handle commercial projects?

Yes. We provide commercial fencing, controlled-access gates, structural repairs, and motor or access-control upgrades.

Can you repair an existing gate?

Yes. We inspect the frame, posts, track, rollers, hinges, stops, alignment, operator, and safety hardware to identify the real cause of the problem.

Do you replace gate motors?

Yes. We can evaluate, replace, or upgrade sliding and swing gate operators and coordinate the operator with the gate structure and safety hardware.

How deep are gate posts installed?

Qualifying support posts are commonly installed approximately 40–46 inches deep, depending on the project design, soil, site conditions, and structural requirements.

Do you use nails for cedar fence construction?

Our premium cedar work is designed around durable fastening and structural support. The exact fasteners and materials are documented in the project proposal.

What warranty do you offer?

Qualifying Art Construction-built frames and installed posts may receive lifetime workmanship coverage. Economy-motor sliding-gate systems may receive limited 10-year coverage. Exact terms, exclusions, and motor coverage are written into each qualifying proposal.

Are gate motors covered by the structural warranty?

Motor and operator coverage is separate from structural frame and post coverage. Manufacturer coverage and project-specific motor terms are stated in writing.

Can you match a gate to my home?

Yes. Materials, proportions, ornament, finish, columns, and automation can be coordinated with the architecture of the property.

Do you offer black and champagne-gold finishes?

Yes. Black, champagne gold, bronze, and other specialty finishes can be discussed for qualifying custom iron and steel projects.

How long does a project take?

Timing depends on design complexity, material availability, fabrication, site preparation, permits, automation, and weather. Your proposal will explain the expected schedule.

Do I need a permit or HOA approval?

Requirements vary by city, property, and community. The property owner should confirm HOA requirements, and we can discuss known project considerations during planning.

What information should I send for an estimate?

Send your city, photos of the area, approximate width and height, preferred material and style, and whether you need a sliding gate, swing gate, fence, columns, or automation.
